I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 along side the preinstalled windows 8 on my hp pavillion touchsmart. I am able to connect to the internet through an ethernet connection, but my wifi is not working. If it helps, my wifi works on windows 8.

I think I may have figured out what the problem is. I don't have the rtl8188ee driver installed, but I can't figure out how to install it.

Hi Matt, did you install the drivers for it. For example, if they are Broadcom you could see this question: askubuntu.com/questions/55868/… –  Luis Sep 25 '13 at 3:46

I think I need the realtek driver rtl8188ee. I tried installing it from there web side, then extracting it and running make on the top level dir of the driver but it gives me and error. Says that it expected ask or attribute before rtl PCI probe. –  Matt Carle Sep 25 '13 at 15:02

Please edit your question to add details of your wireless device from the terminal command: lspci -nn | grep 0280 –  chili555 Sep 25 '13 at 21:56
