Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

By looking at my syslog, I see that NetworkManager executes the scripts in /etc/NetworkManager/dispatcher.d/ on the "up" state on boot, as expected.

But it does not trigger on the "down" state when shutting down.

I tried just doing ifconfig eth0 down, and it worked, so it's just when shutting down my system (using the normal GUI shutdown button) that the dispatcher.d scripts are not called.

Question is: is this behavior intended?
