Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

When logged in, I was able to go into the settings and change "When the lid is closed" to "Do nothing", and it works accordingly. I want to be able to SSH into the laptop without first logging in at the laptop. When I'm at the login screen of the laptop and I close the lid, the laptop still suspends and I cannot SSH into it.

How can I disable suspend when the lid closes while I'm at the login screen?

Thanks.

Running into same problem. The setting you found only applies when you're logged in. –  Aren Cambre Oct 23 '13 at 21:37
