Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I need help. I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 via Wubi directly from Windows 7. I opened Wubi.exe, it asked me where i want to install Ubuntu i choose Partition E (Windows 7 is on C) And allocated 10GB of space then clicked install. It downloaded some files from the net, finished, prompted me to restart my PC. I restarted and when the windows boot screen showed up there was only 1 option and that was Windows 7. All i could do was press enter to load windows or wait 10 sec for it to load automatically.

I know there's an answer somewhere but i don't know anything about GRUB and whatever...i'm a complete n00b when it comes to linux.

I tried installing from USB but if i choose Inside windows install option it just restarts my PC and does this same thing all over. If i go to partitions and choose my E it gives me some other stupid error that i don't remember.

I've been at this for 4 hours now and it won't install and boot into it no matter what i do.

Someone help me please.

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! We recommend to install Ubuntu alongside Windows, since Wubi is out of support. Please check this guide for missed steps first. –  Danatela Sep 10 '13 at 3:06
