I was just surfing on the internet when the screen just blacked out and bam, my monitors resolution was done and i am not able to detect my original resolution in both ubuntu and windows(strange) I googled it and saw some answers but they are not working for my i tried -

  • deleted monitors.xml file from .config folder
  • looked for xorg.conf file which is not present there in my system i am using a ubuntu 12.04 version
