Compaq Presario laptop - installation of drivers via jockey fails - it says sorry, installation of this driver failed, please have a look at the log file for details /var/log/jockey.log

The error listed in the logfile is:

WARNING: modinfo for module wl failed: ERROR: modinfo: could not find module wl

How do I fix that?

I suppose you might try doing what the message says and checking the log file. Or perhaps if you did that already, please post the logged errors. –  moon.musick Sep 1 '13 at 21:15
    
Ill be honest I don't know how to get to log files.this is all new compared to windows. –  jason Sep 2 '13 at 3:14
    
For all I see, jockey.log in Ubuntu I use is readable to anybody, so you might just navigate to that particular path in Nautilus (the graphical file manager) and simply double-click the file, it will open gedit editor most likely, or you may use either cat or less in terminal, providing the path to the file as an argument, like less /var/log/jockey.log. I can not post the log files.Its too long.Lol if its not one thing its the other. but i did find this error im about to post. –  jason Sep 2 '13 at 13:21
