I would like to adjust the height of an XFCE panel to be 97.5% rather than 97%. Using the GUI, only integer values are accepted (through xfce-panel -p 1). I tried manually editing the configuration file in ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/, but every time I restart xfce-panel, my changes are reverted.

Is there a better way to manually edit the settings? Or, is it possible to have decimal percentage heights?

My guess is that only integer values are accepted whether one uses a GUI or manually edits config files. –  user25656 Aug 31 '13 at 4:42

Hmm, I just checked in the Settings Editor application, and the property is of type Integer. I guess you could write a patch, if it isn't too difficult. –  Azmisov Aug 31 '13 at 4:47

Such a patch would look to me "too much work for too little benefit"(TM). –  ignis Sep 2 '13 at 13:32
