I have an iptable rule that is critical. I have followed the instructions here to make sure the rule gets added when the server is rebooted.

However, my rule drops ping requests. I've noticed that when I reboot there are a few seconds that the server responds to ping requests before the rule is entered. How can I be sure the iptable rule is entered before the server is able to respond to ping requests when it reboots?
