trying to set up a ubuntu vm on a windows host using a bridged network connection and im unable to assign a static ip to the ubuntu vm. the routing table shows 2 sets of entires and i cant reach any devices on the inernal network from the vm. all the internal devices are on the same subnet but I can reach the outside internet

I run ifconfig and the address of the adapter is correct 10.141.98.200 but I can't reach the device there. when I go ip route show I can see a routing table for another ip 10.218.84.XXX (varies on startup)... that I can reach the device at so it seems to accquire an IP through DHCP. I guess the bridged network adapter accquires this IP?
