Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've tried and tried again to boot the installer off of my USB, however, it seems like Acronis True Image is preventing me from booting off the USB stick. Also, as a side note, my windows is completely gone, I can't access it at all, so I can't factory reset my laptop. Is there any way that I can boot Ubuntu off my USB, and get past the Acronis True Image so I can do so?

Assuming I found the correct Acronis (a backup tool), I don't see how/why it would be effecting your boot options, since these are motherboard-based. Can you further explain how you came to that conclusion? –  DaimyoKirby Aug 28 '13 at 17:38
