Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

On my laptop with 750GB which runs a Windows 7, tried to install Ubuntu 13.04 (also tried with ElementryOS) wanted to select a partition to get installation started with and noticed that the Ubuntu partition manager shows quite not right partition on my HDD.

I have 4 Partition in Windows 7 like 100GB, 100GB, 300GB, 200GB but in Ubuntu it shows 3 Partition and like 10GB, 70GB, 5GB or something.

What's wrong with my partitions and what can I do to fix it? should I format it (rather not) and re-partition it with linux from scratch?
