Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have an iMac with a ATI 2600 which runs with the proprietary driver. Since that day, the boot screen is not the nice one but a simple 800x600 textual screen.

Is there some way to set the resolution to 1920x1200? Is there a way to get the graphical screen back?

I use Ubuntu 10.10, but it was the same with Kubuntu 10.10 before.
