I installed Gnome 3.8 in my Ubuntu 13.04 as shown in this tutorial. It used PPA.

Anyway, I wanted to uninstall it, so I installed PPA purge and ran sudo ppa-purge ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3. Then by mistake I restarted the system, but the system shows only the Gnome 3.8 blue stripes screen. I pressed power button, then the following message appeared: You are currently logged in as Gnome Display manager. Nothing else appeared, not even the terminal.

During GNOME installation, GNOME was selected as the default desktop environment.

I want my system to work again.
