I'm using 13.04. Having sudo apt-get install python-glpk I tried to import glpk in my python 2.7 and ipython session. Both attempts have failed. Python and ipython both could not find the module glpk. Other python packages I installed in a similar fashion worked well. Could someone point to me the correct procedure to install python-glpk so that it works.

Could you update the question with the output of python -c 'import sys; print sys.path', it might help in diagnosing your problem. –  Jason Conti Aug 22 '13 at 16:34
