Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I access my Ubuntu computer remotely the problem is that when I turn it on and I don't have a monitor plugged in, it logs in normally, but it freezes and wont let me do anything else.

I read this post:

How can I install Ubuntu on a device without a screen nor a keyboard?

But I have too many files, programs and configurations in my Ubuntu computer to install it again on another computer and switch the HDD.

If you guys know any other way I can like "Emulate" a monitor/display I would really appreciate it.
