Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

so, i've upgraded to 13.04 and my workspaces are being determined by metacity, as best as i can figure. i couldn't switch anything at all until i disabled then reeenabled workspaces through appearance settings. now, instead of the 8x1 (eight horizontal 1 vertical) workspace i've dictated in compiz, it's in a 4x2, i can only assume dictated by metacity.

this is so frustrating. trying to get dual monitor in this version to run a compiz cube is killing me...

and, why is it that running compiz through the unity launcher give me different effects (seem to hold most of the time, prior to upgrading ubuntu) than launching it from terminal using 'sudo' (usually didn't hold). just curious.
