I have Windows 7 on my laptop, and on it I can watch YouTube in 1080p with 0 buffering/loading. I recently dual-booted Ubuntu with Wubi. Now, when I try to watch YouTube on the Ubuntu boot, videos will only load at 240p... Why is that, and how can I fix it?

can you try to install the latest chrome on Ubuntu and try from there? google.com/chrome –  Cubiq Aug 16 '13 at 13:58
Did you install adobe flash plugin (search for it in software center)? Also, which graphics driver are you using? –  soulsource Aug 16 '13 at 14:19
@Cubiq I have installed Chrome, but I uninstalled it because it didn't help. –  camomc44 Aug 16 '13 at 16:56
@soulsource I had installed the browser plugin, but not the one from the Software Center. I'll try that. –  camomc44 Aug 16 '13 at 16:57
Really, also have a look at the graphics driver. If you are for some reason using framebuffer or vesa drivers (those should only be used if your GPU is not detected correctly by the open source drivers), don't expect to be able to watch videos in decent quality. If you have an AMD or NVidia card, try to install the proprietary drivers. –  soulsource Aug 16 '13 at 17:17
