When the update manager pops up informing me of updates, it lists the modules to be downloaded and installed, but requires 12.10 Quantal-Quetzel i386 cd, which I haven't got.

Here's my sources.list :

# deb cdrom:[Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS _Precise Pangolin_ - Release amd64 (20130213)]/ dists/precise/main/binary-i386/

# deb cdrom:[Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS _Precise Pangolin_ - Release amd64 (20130213)]/ dists/precise/restricted/binary-i386/

I've tried changing permissions on sources.list and commmenting out the two lines mentioning 12.10 and the cd, but it hasn't made any difference with the update manager still requesting 12.10 cd and failing to install the downloaded updates.

So I fixed it eventually. I was being too technical trying to mess around with sources.list.

If anyone else has this problem you have to open update manager and change the 'other software' settings.

I did that and everything worked fine.
