I am a bit desperate after spending countless hours trying to install Ubuntu :(
I googled and tried everything I read, but I can't get my laptop to boot from an USB stick.
When I select it to boot from the USB stick, the screen turn black for a second, one cursor link and then it jumps back to the screen where you select from which drive to boot.
It's a new Lenovo S430 with Windows 7 pre-installed. (UEFI)
I looked through the Uefi/Bios setup options and did all what is recommended in several threads about this topic.
- No secured boot,
- Legacy preferred,
- Diagnostic instead of Quick mode etc.
The USB filesystem is FAT32
I created the bootable USB stick with the tool recommended on Ubuntu.com and also with Unetbootin.
I tried it with the 64bit version of 12.04 LTS and 13.04
The only way to get Ubuntu running is with the Windows Installer. But I don't want it to run on NTFS.
So what options do I have? What can I try to get it running? Thanks!
