My laptop is HP Pavilion G6-2301AX Laptop (Amd APU Quad Core A8/ 4GB/ 500GB/ Win8/ 2.5GB Graph) while installing ubuntu (multiboot) I am not able to find any partitions that I had on my windows not even the empty space that I left unassigned. The only thing I am seeing is my entire harddisk with out any partitions. Previously I used Ubuntu on my two other old laptops but never faced such a problem. Thanks in advance.

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo parted print Error: Could not stat device print - No such file or directory.

When I ran gparted it's showing /dev/sda contains GPT signatures, indicating that it has a GPT table. However, it does not have a valid fake msdos partition table, as it should. Perhaps it was corrupted -- possibly by a program that doesn't understand GPT partition tables. Or perhaps you deleted the GPT table, and are now using an msdos partition table. Is this a GPT partition table?"

I am able to see my partitions in the doc on the left side.
