I have a EC2 server,Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS x64 and with tomcat 7.0.40 installed. It works fine in the past two months, but it sends a CPUUtilization alarm email on UTC 04:00:00 everyday.I found the tomcat took 99.9% CPU on that time, here is the "top" output:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

20522 root 20 0 3028m 1.7g 9824 S 99.9 46.7 1298:54 java

11109 root 20 0 1641m 22m 9.9m S 8.0 0.6 0:00.40 jstat

11106 root 20 0 17320 1216 932 R 0.3 0.0 0:00.01 top

1 root 20 0 24324 2288 1360 S 0.0 0.1 0:02.35 init

2 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0.0 0.0 0:00.00 kthreadd

3 root 20 0 0 0 0 S 0.0 0.0 2:57.58 ksoftirqd/0

the PID 20522 is tomcat.

It is annoying. But wyh tomcat is so busy on that time ?Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. By the way, please forgive my poor English.
