I just bought a hp laptop, pavilion G6-2348SG and have a terrible problem with Wireless connection.
I could solve it in windows by the help of hp support team but n ubuntu 12.04 i still don't have wireless connection and the wireless key on the keyboard doesn't work.
I searched a lot and also saw This but I still can not see wireless working as i'm not that familiar with ubuntu.
any help is gratefully appreciated

PS: I dont know exactly if my wireless card is 5392 or 5390 but I think there is no difference between them

best

Please open a terminal ctrl+alt+t copy and paste the following commands into it one line at a time, then edit your question to contain the results of these commands. cat /etc/lsb-release; uname -a lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 net lsusb iwconfig rfkill list all lsmod –  Wild Man Aug 4 '13 at 20:50

Thank you my friend :). I added all what you wanted. I dont know how to reply my own post that's why I just editted it. The only thing I need to point out is that I dont have wired connection now so if you think I need internet connection please let me know to go somewhere that I can connect. Thank you again :) –  kasra mani Aug 5 '13 at 11:34

I changed what you asked my friend. Thanks for reply BTW :) about those links I tried mediatec which didnt work actually for me and I dont know about the first link at all. I checked it out and sounds pretty cool but what is that? does it solve my problem? –  kasra mani Aug 6 '13 at 12:13

Have you tried here wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Support, and here's a link to the driver for your device (source code) mediatek.com/_en/07_downloads/01-1_windowsDetail.php?sn=5001 just enter your name and email and the download should start un-compress it and there should be a read-me file with instructions. Occasionally modifications to the code are necessary for the best or any performance but that should get you started down the right path. –  dginsd Aug 6 '13 at 13:24
