My HTPC refuses to output audio to HDMI. I've went through Volume Control, there's no option related to HDMI output in the configuration tab, or the output tab. I assume that it has nothing to do with the kernel bug that occurred in April, because the syslog says nothing about it. I'm running 13.04, a 9800GT, with the Nvidia 313 proprietary drivers from the ubuntu software center. Here's the output from aplay -l:

**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC887-VD Analog [ALC887-VD Analog]
  Subdevices: 0/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 1: ALC887-VD Digital [ALC887-VD Digital]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
