I just installed Ubuntu 13.04. I've had Windows 7 on my laptop for quite a while. My D: drive, where all of my data is saved, remained intact after the installation. However, after messing around with Ubuntu for a bit, I booted up Windows and most of my C: (where my programs/OS are) drive was reset to how it had been when I acquired my computer. Is this normal?

How did you install Ubuntu? –  Mitch Aug 3 '13 at 20:14

@Mitch I downloaded it from Ubuntu.com and then used their USB installer (pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/#button) to install it onto a USB drive. After, I booted it up and installed from the menu there. –  F3AR3DLEGEND Aug 3 '13 at 21:26
