Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

This question already has an answer here:

Does anyone know if the Ubuntu Touch OS will be downloadable for any phone? I'll be getting a new phone today and was wondering if I should just get a cheap brick to get my by or if I should get a decent one (HTC one, Galaxy S4, Experia Z, etc) and then just download Ubuntu Touch OS onto it once the stable version is released.

I remember reading somewhere that developers would be making compatible versions for different kinds of phones, I don't care if I have to pay for it or not, I just want to know if it'll be available.

By default all Nexus devices are fully supported, get a Nexus4 if you want to be on the safe side.

Beyond this there are community maintained ports for other devices at which might or might not be fully working ...
