Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Im having issues setting it up through virtual box. I have 2 adapters setin my virtual box, one being Host-only and the other being NAT.

I have configured my interfaces file as:

address 192.168.56.99
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.56.1 (Virtual Box Host-only adapter IP)
dns-nameservers 192.168.x.xxx (My Windows DNS Server)

I can ping from guest to host and ping myself but I cannot ping to the internet such as google being 8.8.8.8 . When i attempt ping 8.8.8.8 it just says Pinging 8.8.8.8 but no message saying ping recieved or unreachable host is shown.

Any help would be amazing
