Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I tried searching everywhere to find an answer to this question and I can't get any information beside one, unanswered post from the forums.

Snotplot’s issue is exactly my problem. Using vsync in applications lowers frame rates and delays mouse responsiveness. I hate using a 3D application without vsync on and seeing the visual tearing. I know triple buffering is supported by some apps but not all. In Windows 7, D3DOverrider works miracles as it overrides and forces triple buffering with vsync on any graphics application that is opened. If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
