If you try another extension, does it give you the same error? – James Mar 30 '11 at 17:51
1…… - install those two AskUbuntu extensions. (Or try to). – James Mar 30 '11 at 17:53
I've figured it out. I'll post an answer shortly. – James Mar 30 '11 at 18:08

Install the Chrome Development version. To do that, run the following:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install google-chrome-unstable

However, be warned that this is Google Chrome unstable, and that it won't be stable, and that some features might not work. Also, this will remove Google Chrome stable.

E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead. are these fine? – lovingubuntu10.04 Mar 30 '11 at 18:18
Means that you have some PPA's that aren't for your system. Just run sudo apt-get install google-chrome-unstable - you can ask about fixing your PPA's in another question. – James Mar 30 '11 at 18:25
