  • Dell 1545 - lubuntu 13.04
  • Oracle Java 1.7.0_25
  • Minecraft - Fresh Download.

To Clear things up. Installed Java and Minecraft, for some reason had problems and in the end sorted it out. Cannot remember how thou. Lubuntu 13.04 decided it wanted to update, which I let it and then it rebooted. Since then I get the below error. I have since uninstalled both Oracle Java & Minecraft. I have also tried reinstalling and all the time I get the same error if I run the minecraft.jar or launcher.jar.

The error:

MissingFieldException[ The following required field is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>]
 at com.sun.javaws.jnl.XMLFormat.parse(Unknown Source)
 at com.sun.javaws.jnl.LaunchDescFactory.buildDescriptor(Unknown Source)

Ok I think I know what I have done wrong but not how to fix it. I think I installed both Oracle Java and Open Java and have some how screwed things up.
