As im using ubuntu 12.04 now for my Desktop and my Laptop an wanted to setup a HTPC with Ubuntu TV for watching DVB-T, DVB-C, Sky HD and for gaming a little bit via Steam for Linux. I thinking about the following specs:

Intel I7 GSkill 16GB Ram ASRock Extreme 4-m GT640 3GB GDDR5 low profile Digital Devices Cine CT2 V6 as double tuner card Lian Li PC-C39B with remote control unit Ubuntu 12.04 with Ubuntu TV

In general there should no problem with these hardware specs except the Lian Li remote control T V6. I dont even find any informations about that someone try these remote control unit with ubuntu. The Cine CT2 seems to have some drivers out which will let the card for DVB and Sky.

So here are my questions:

1.: Will Ubuntu TV Interface work with the Digital Devices Cine CT V6 or am i forced to use MythTV? 2.: Someone out there who ever tried the Lian Li C39B remote control unit with ubuntu?

Any hints are welcome :-)

Err, try both? Use the Ubuntu TV install instructions (wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuTV/Contributing), if that doesn't work, use the following commands to remove UbuntuTV as much as is easily possible: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:u2t/bleedingedge --remove sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get remove unity-2d-shell Then, just: sudo apt-get install mythtv Load Unity (3D) and load the MythTV as usual :D –  Ads20000 Jul 27 '13 at 8:47
