Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have Windows 8 and I want to install Ubuntu because of the neat design. I installed it and it asked me to boot. After boot it said Configuring Windows. After it configured it said choose a startup. The choices were Windows 8 and Ubuntu I clicked Ubuntu and it said it cannot start operation system. It gave me suggestions to fix it but it was all instructions to fix Windows. It said Reinstall Windows with CD. Choose sound settings then start. and another one I cant remember. Ubuntu won't start and I don't know what to do. Any help?

UPDATE: I attempted to start Ubuntu again and I can add more details. It takes me to the Windows Boot Manager. It says Windows cannot start but I'm not attempting to start Windows I want to start Ubuntu.
