Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I installed Ubuntu 13.04, It worked fine for 2 days, now my screen is stretched for no reason (that I know of), the laptop keeps switching from "Speakers built in audio" to "Dummy Output" back and forth, the graphics are in slow motion, the display is stretched horizontally, and the laptop hangs on logo when I try to shut it down.

I believe I switched from Windows 7 to Linux because people say it is better for programmers, (I learn programming in college, beginner), now I regret switching to Linux. Don't get me wrong, I love the interface, terminal, codes and all that is awesome, but as I mentioned above, I am frustrated about those issues.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, first of all, we need details, like the output of lspci, or what did you do before things went south, also read How to Ask just to keep it on topic. –  Braiam Jul 25 '13 at 3:35
