After reinstalling Ubuntu 13.04 Desktop on my Lenovo ThinkPad Edge e320, I got a problem with my network-card (may be because I also have openSUSE and this has the same problem). I have Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000.

The problem. After using the WiFi-network for about 15 minutes it just switches off. I still can see the connection on the Network-Manager, but I can not load any website or ping.

  • service networking restart does not help.
  • Just switching off the currently connection and switching it on again sometimes works,
  • rebooting, too.

But I have no idea, how to get the WiFi network working stably again.

Can you help please?

1) Is it always 15 minutes? On, 15 minutes, off? 2) How strong is the signal? 3) How far is the router / access point? 4) Are there any obstacles between it and your receiver (laptop)? 5) Is the light on - is it machine problem, signal quality... –  LIttle Ancient Forest Kami Jul 24 '13 at 17:12

1) not always, it can be from 12 to 18 minutes, but only in this interval; 2)3)4) the router is in the same room, the signal is very good, there is nothing between –  Oliar Jul 25 '13 at 13:38
