Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

When I go to Settings > Desktop, I can add new desktop backgrounds using the + button, but when I close the settings and open them again, only the image currently-in-use and the default Xubuntu desktop images remain. This is very annoying, because it means if I want to change the image I have to add it all over again. Is there any solution? If it can be fixed with Terminal, great, but please be very very specific because I have no command-line knowledge.
