Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my PC. Firstly, it asks me whether to try or install Ubuntu. Obviously, I want to install, so I selected "Install Ubuntu". Then, it gave me three option:

  1. Install Ubuntu alongside Windows 7 (as my system is having Win 7 as one of the OSs)
  2. Replace Win 7 by Ubuntu
  3. Try something else

I selected the first option i.e. install Ubuntu alongside Win 7. As soon as i click on install, the CD automatically comes out of the CD-Drive and a message appears on the screen: Remove Installation Media And Close Tray(If Any) and press Enter.

My System Configuration is like this:

Hard Disk: 250 GB, of which 23 GB is free.
RAM: 2 GB
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor

I am not getting any disc error messages. Please help me ASAP. Thank you in advance.
