I'm considering the Toshiba Satellite Pro L50 (PSKG9A-009001 -- i7-3630QM) for a Ubuntu install and am wondering if anyone is aware of any issues (and solutions to same) with running Ubuntu on this machine. I hear that Toshibas are a bit more hard work to get up and running with Linux.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards Richard

I can't tell you about that specific machine, but I've just got a Toshiba Satellite S70, and I was having trouble getting things working from the second I selected "Install" on grub. I'm still looking for solutions to things like screen brightness and backlight issues, keyboard and function keys working oddly, drivers incompatible, and other things. That's probably not what you were hoping to hear. I'll try to post back when I have more info. –  BenjaminRH Jul 17 '13 at 17:17
