Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I was trying to shrink away the size of my Ubuntu 13.04 installation today and I laughed at myself when I realized I had forgotten to delete the Spotify cache for a long while, so, after pressing Ctrl + H to get the dotfiles in view and going into .config and doing the deleting that I had to from the Spotify folder, I went into .cache to see what was there and I noticed a folder labeled e, just that, e.

Any clues? I have Googled and Forumed and Asked and can find nothing. The file names all end in .file, names are 32 to 64 characters and the size range between several hundred KB to a few dozen MB.

Ideas? Suggestions?

I'm not very sure but, have you ever installed enlightenment 17 as a DE ? or else, you can see the files in that folder, maybe they have some reference somewhere. –  NikTh Jul 6 '13 at 22:35
No, I have never installed E17 as a DE on this box. Thank you for the reply however. –  Kaobear Jul 7 '13 at 17:39
