I created 2 Intel Raid Array's using the Option Rom version 12.6. First one is Raid 0, the 2nd is Raid 5.

Everything works in windows, and Intel RST verification reports it's initialized and no error.

I've already attempted to delete and recreate the array. dmraid -ay shows wrong number of devices in RAID set, Volume1 was not activated, and then dmraid freezes.

/dev/disk/by-uuid does not have links to the drives, but by-id does. /dev/sdc appears to have a partition, while sdd and sde do not contain a valid partition table.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I fixed it. Though, mdstat says the raid 5 is auto read only, and --readwrite has no effect, I can finally access everything. What I did was force the raid 5 to mount with 2 disks, then mdadm --add /dev/sdb and wait for the rebuild. Then went into Option ROM, deleted the Raid 0, recreate it, now mdadm will see it correctly with 3 drives. Ran testdisk from windows and shazaam. such a pain. Running testdisk in linux causes OFFLINE MEMBER on all 3 drives, and no raids define if cold booted without assembling in linux first. Testdisk 4 Windows doesn't have this problem. Need a metadata editor... –  Matthew M. Dean Jul 4 '13 at 19:04

I give up. The Metadata on /dev/sdb keeps changing. Windows and Intel RST don't care and run perfectly fine without it somehow. No way to edit the metadata as far as I can tell. –  Matthew M. Dean Jul 5 '13 at 7:45
