another boot question. I have installed every different Nvidia driver presented from 304 and above as found in the System Settings>Software and Updates>Additional Drivers
Currently I am using the latest version, 313, but the message below appears in
dmesg for ALL the proprietary drivers.
X.Org.X server causes major screen redrawing problems, so I can not use this.
- The second monitor, ViewSonic VA2016w 1680X1050, flickers very slightly all the time.
- The main Graphics Card is a GeForce 8400M GT
The laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-AR71E (probably the problem!!!)
[ 53.505648] NVRM: Your system is not currently configured to drive a VGA console [ 53.505654] NVRM: on the primary VGA device. The NVIDIA Linux graphics driver [ 53.505657] NVRM: requires the use of a text-mode VGA console. Use of other console [ 53.505660] NVRM: drivers including, but not limited to, vesafb, may result in [ 53.505662] NVRM: corruption and stability problems, and is not supported.
My question is, What does the warning mean to me and how do I, if needed, fix it?
