another boot question. I have installed every different Nvidia driver presented from 304 and above as found in the System Settings>Software and Updates>Additional Drivers

Currently I am using the latest version, 313, but the message below appears in dmesg for ALL the proprietary drivers.

X.Org.X server causes major screen redrawing problems, so I can not use this.

  • The second monitor, ViewSonic VA2016w 1680X1050, flickers very slightly all the time.
  • The main Graphics Card is a GeForce 8400M GT
  • The laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN-AR71E (probably the problem!!!)

My question is, What does the warning mean to me and how do I, if needed, fix it?
