Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've recently started using Xubuntu 13.04. I have a dualscreen setup which extends and works just fine except for the login screen.

On login screen, I still see both screens cloned which is okay, but what really annoys me is that it stretches my dualscreen background. I don't know why it should have access to my wallpaper prior to login in the first place.

How can I achieve either one of these:

  1. Get the login screen to use both screens and extend them just like how the desktop does after login.
  2. Make it stop grabbing user's background and replace it with a solid color or any other background image.

My login screen looked like this out-of-the-box. I guess it's lightdm?

Thanks for your time in advance.
