I have a Dell studio 1557 notebook which has a dell wireless card. I installed Ubuntu 13.04 but no wireless connection established. There was no problem with wired connection. Then I clicked additional drivers and it found something like Broadcom STA wireless driver so I downloaded. but there appeared an error message on install. so I dont have a wireless connection. How can i solve this and establish a wireless connection ? Thanx in advance

edit on demand: Network controller Broadcom Corporation BCM 4312 802.11 b/g LP-PHY (rev 01)

Before you try any driver, let's verify your wireless hardware. Please open a terminal and run: lspci -nn -d 14e4: Then edit your question to add the details. This is what i got after running the above code: 09:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM5906M Fast Ethernet PCI Express [14e4:1713] (rev 02) 0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11a/b/g [14e4:4312] (rev 01) –  user185106 Aug 18 '13 at 7:56
