How can I backup my "Main Menu->Applications" entries so that I can restore my own entries during next Ubuntu installation ?

Do you want to back up the menu or a list of installed applications? –  Scott Goodgame Jun 24 '13 at 6:33

I have Edited Menu and added my own commands with icons and comments. So I need to take a backup. I don't want to Edit Menu and add all those commands to menu when I install a newer version of Ubuntu ! Is that possible ? Is there any xml file or so which I can backup ? –  cognoz Jun 24 '13 at 15:13
