Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I want to customize grub's background image, but I don't want to show the grub menu, so I change /etc/default/grub as following:

    GRUB_DEFAULT=0
    GRUB_TIMEOUT=0
    GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash"
    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""
    GRUB_BACKGROUND=/usr/share/images/grub/Glasses_800_edit.tga

It didn't show the image but black color. It only works when I changed GRUB_TIMEOUT > 0 and at the same time shows the grub menu.

Any solutions? THX!!
