I downloaded a SQLite browser, but it's simply left as a package in my downloads. I've extracted it so now what do I do to install it as a program? New to ubuntu and linux, thanks. Using 12.04 lts

I realize this is a pretty basic question but I've looked through several other questions and haven't quite found the same thing answered.

are you familiar with the commands make, make install ./configure etc? – Rrjrjtlokrthjji Jun 18 '13 at 19:01
As far as I can tell there are no files with tar bz2 or gz extensions. Does this mean it wasn't written for linux? – user168316 Jun 18 '13 at 19:09

@ChristophePrakash In what form did you download the package? If it's publicly available, post the URL. – Gilles Jun 18 '13 at 19:25
