Hi I need to extract all the images from a book, the problem I have with pdfimages is that the output images are cropped (i.e. a graphic is missing the axis labels). Is there a way to get the images extracted with a 10-15% of margin (or something equivalent)?

pdfimages is extracting the image objects directly out of the PDF file without considering how the document is laid out. In this case presumably the axis are not part of the image but are composed of separate PDF drawing and text objects. In this case you need to fully render each page and then save the buffer - tools exist to do this for whole pages (eg convert) but not selectively around images as far as I'm aware. –  chronitis Jun 18 '13 at 9:05
