I installed Ubuntu desktop over Ubuntu server and am facing a serious problem with suspend. When I press any button to resume, the screen flashes white then turns black. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 and other combinations do nothing.

My laptop is the Ubuntu G780. Processor is i7-3570M, GPU is VESA Intel Graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4000). I tried to install the Intel graphics drivers, which has done nothing to fix the problem. I have also used Google to no avail. The backlight problem does not apply to me. Tried the Ubuntu Page with no success.

Your "question" reads like a bug report to me. Please report bugs as bugs. How do I report a bug? –  gertvdijk Oct 16 '13 at 11:19

1 Answer 1

Hold fn and press to bring back the screen.

It is not the best fix, but at least you get the screen back like that.
