After coming across Can I use the indicator icons from Ubuntu Touch on the desktop version?, I downloaded the icons (sudo apt-get install ubuntu-mobile-icons). I have a question regarding the contents of usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mobile.

Some of the icons are quite large:

[04:30 PM] /usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mobile/apps/scalable $ ls -lhS
total 9.4M
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3.8M Apr 12 05:32 music.svg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 992K Apr 12 05:42 notepad.svg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 870K Apr 12 05:42 evernote.svg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 806K Apr 12 05:42 phone-app.svg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 711K Apr 12 05:43 calendar.svg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 552K Apr 12 05:32 webbrowser-app.svg
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 522K Apr 12 05:42 gallery-app.svg

If these svg icons are to be rendered, would that affect responsiveness? Or, are these icons included for some other reason and would the icons actually displayed be sourced from /usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mobile/apps/144 where the .png equivalents are located?
