Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a HP5610 Multi function printer which was connected via USB to PC running Ubuntu 12.04 which printed and scanned ok. I now have the printer connected via its usb port to TP-LINK wireless print server and printing is ok. I altered the connection etc via CUPS. However I am no longer able to scan as Ubuntu cannot find it as a scanning device. According to TP-LINK info the print server will support both printing and scanning.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
