Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have installed Google Chrome (stable) and would like to watch this particular video, but it won't start:

http://catchup.ninemsn.com.au/arrow/1/8663420/an-innocent-man

It shows up and I can see the controls, but nothing happens when I click the play button.

I can watch YouTube and other Flash videos. I've tried the other videos on that site, and none of them play.

I should also note that I've managed to install Flash 11.2 on Firefox and it doesn't work either.

The video DOES play on my Windows computer.

Thanks!

I got this notice (Google Chrome beta and Firefox beta): Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within Australia :( –  user25656 Jun 8 '13 at 6:26

Flash isn't installed by default in Chrome for Ubuntu and youtube can be run on HTML5. –  Alvar Jun 8 '13 at 12:40

"The video DOES play on my Windows computer." and the site has "msn" in its address. Maybe it's one of those mysterious works best in/on Windows things? –  user25656 Jun 8 '13 at 12:49

Thanks for the responses. Sorry for those outside Australia who can't test it. I forgot about that. I could play it on my Mac (just watched it, actually). I do have Flash working on Chrome (not just YouTube) and Firefox, so it's not just a Flash thing. I'm still interested in why, but so far it looks specific to one site, so I can let it go until (if) it comes up again. Thanks. –  Lindsay Linux Jun 9 '13 at 4:34
